The Prince Albert II regattas in Monaco (website) are a worldwide coastal rowing event. Firstly because the level of competition is very high, with 18 nations represented this year, but also because the organization is up to the event.

Liteboat had chosen to support a local team from the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne League with 3 boats: LiteRace 1X, 2X and 4X with river crews, rowing in the waves.

The Friday events (qualifications) took place under an azure sky, but in a rough sea. Competitors had to wait until they were at the top of the wave to see the race buoys! The water finally eased for the Saturday finals and the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne Team rowed really well.

For girls, silver medals for the female 4X + and bronze for the 2X. For men, a silver medal for the 2X. A proof that high level river rowers quickly learn the ocean….

A big thank you to the organization for its welcome, and to the Thonon Rowing Club for being the linchpin of these beautiful days.
