Our advices to enjoy your boat
You will be able to enjoy your row with or without the mainsail hoisted. The sail is high enough to be able to row without being hindered. If the wind is in the right direction, the support of the mainsail can give you some speed. If two of you board the LiteXP 20, your passenger will be seated on the sides of the boat, the stability of the boat allows this.
The LiteXP 20 has a single comfortable and efficient paddling station. It can also be used without sails, for nice rowing trips. For rowing, it is advisable to raise the pivoting centerboard for more efficiency. The sail can be easily secured in the boat while you row, using the clips provided for this purpose.
When you are sailing, the oars can be easily attached in the boat, by the fasteners provided. It doesn’t get in the way when you are sailing. It is also advisable to store the sliding seat in the cabin. You can also sail three, double, or solo on this boat. If the wind is too strong, it is possible to reef in the mainsail. The booster straps also allow you to stabilize in the boat and reduce heel.
The LiteXP 20 is equipped with a weighted centerboard, the boat cannot turn over. The boat can lie down on the water, the waterproof mast helps the boat to stand up. See video of self-righting here. The low freeboard height and the fully open cockpit make it easy to get back on board. For navigation in shallow water it is advisable not to block the centerboard in the low position.
The open Cockpit allows water to drain instantly. During windy sailing, it is advisable to close the cabin hood. The boat is totally unsinkable.
The gennaker (optional) will give you more speed when you navigate in downwinds. The gennaker can be used from a crosswind, depending on the strength of the wind. Top downwind speeds can reach 15 knots in strong winds. The boat climbs up to 45 ° to the wind, this may vary in rough seas.
The LiteXP 20 has been designed for a few days in a bivouac. You can take your bivouac equipment as well as your food. You can sleep 2 in the LiteXP 20, the shoulder width is 1.50 m.The addition of the optional camping tent covers the anterior part of the cockpit and protects access into the small cabin.
As the fully equipped boat weighs only 150 kg, you can easily reassemble it by hand using the removable wheels.
The different covers that we offer will protect both the equipment, the boat or your vehicle
