Our advices to enjoy your boat
You can enjoy your row with or without the mainsail hoisted. The sail is high enough to be able to row without being hampered. If the wind is in the right direction, the support of the mainsail can give you some speed.
If two of you board the Lite XP 16, your passenger will be seated on the bench facing you in the direction of travel of the boat. You can therefore chat face to face and steer the boat. The bench is wide enough to carry two children.
The LiteXP 16 can also be used without a mast or sail, for nice rowing trips. For rowing, it is advisable to remove the centerboard for more efficiency. The sail can be easily secured in the boat while you row, using the clips provided for this purpose.
When you are sailing, the oars can be easily attached in the boat, by the fasteners provided. It doesn’t get in the way when you are sailing. It is advisable to store the sliding seat in the storage compartments. The entire rowing station as well as the racks are completely removable. You can also sail double or solo on this boat. If the wind is too strong, it is possible to take a reef in the mainsail. The recall strap also allows you to stabilize in the boat and reduce the list.
The LiteXP 16 is a very stable dinghy, the boat can lie down in the water, the waterproof mast limits the risk of completely overturning. You just need to press lightly on the rudder to straighten the boat. The low freeboard height makes it easy to get back on board with the help of the recall strap. The boat is unsinkable.
The cockpit is self-draining thanks to its self-bailer. If you want to remove the water at a very low speed you can use a bailer. The gennaker (optional) will give you more speed when you navigate in downwinds. The gennaker can be used from a crosswind, depending on the strength of the wind. Top downwind speeds can reach 15 knots in sustained wind. The boat climbs up to 45 ° to the wind, this may vary in rough seas.
The LiteXP16 does not have a cabin but you can bring all your bivouac gear. Two large watertight hatches are located at the back of the boat, you can put your sleeping bag, your tent, or even your picnic! A small watertight hatch is located at the front of the boat, if the large hatches are not enough for you. A large storage volume is closed by a net at the mast to store the gennaker and a waterproof bag.
The fully equipped boat weighing only 100 kg, you can reassemble it easily by hand or on the removable wheels.
